The Prophet’s Advice

The Prophet’s Advice

Narrated Abu Dhurr -may Allah be pleased with him- said:

“My close companion –Prophet Muhammad, prayer and peace be upon him- advised me of some characteristics of goodness:

He advised me not to look at those who are above me (in worldly status), but rather look at those who are below me.

He advised me to love the poor and get close to them.

He advised me to maintain my kinship even if they turned away.

He advised me not to fear in Allah the reproach (criticism) of the reproacher.

He advised me to say the truth even if it was bitter.

And he advised me to say frequently: ‘La howla wa la quwata illa bil-Allah (There is neither power nor strength except for Allah).”
