Short and steady — the plain meaning, with the reports that bear on it and little else.

Al-Mujādilah 58:18 Juzʾ 28 Page 544

‏‏‏ ‏‏‏‏‏‏ ‏‏ ‏‏‏‏ ‏‏‏‏‏‏‏ ‏‏ ‏‏‏ ‏‏‏‏‏ ‏‏‏ ‏‏‏‏‏‏ ‏‏‏‏ ‏ ‏‏‏ ‏‏ ‏‏‏‏ ‏‏ ‏‏‏‏‏‏‏ ‏

On the Day Allah will resurrect them all, and they will swear to Him as they swear to you and think that they are [standing] on something. Unquestionably, it is they who are the liars.

قَوْله تَعَالَى: ‏‏‏ ‏‏‏‏‏‏ ‏‏ ‏‏‏‏ ‏‏‏‏‏‏‏ ‏‏ ‏‏‏ ‏‏‏‏‏ ‏‏‏ أَي: يحلفُونَ لله كذبا كَمَا حلفوا لكم كذبا.

وَقَوله: ‏‏‏‏‏‏ ‏‏‏‏ ‏ ‏‏‏ أَي: يظنون أَنهم على شَيْء.

وَقَوله: ‏‏ ‏‏‏‏ ‏‏ ‏‏‏‏‏‏‏ أَي: الْكَاذِبُونَ على الله وعَلى رَسُوله.
