Al-Baqarah 2:128 Juzʾ 1 Page 20

‏‏‏‏ ‏‏‏‏‏‏‏ ‏‏‏‏‏ ‏‏ ‏‏‏ ‏‏‏‏‏‏ ‏‏‏ ‏‏‏‏‏ ‏‏ ‏‏‏‏‏ ‏‏‏‏‏‏‏ ‏‏‏ ‏‏‏‏‏‏ ‏‏‏ ‏‏‏ ‏‏‏‏‏ ‏‏‏‏‏‏ ‏

Our Lord, and make us Muslims [in submission] to You and from our descendants a Muslim nation [in submission] to You. And show us our rites and accept our repentance. Indeed, You are the Accepting of repentance, the Merciful.

Read in the muṣḥaf

قَوْله تَعَالَى: ‏‏‏‏ ‏‏‏‏‏‏‏ ‏‏‏‏‏ ‏‏ يَقُول: مستسلمين، خاضعين، منقادين.

‏‏‏ ‏‏‏‏‏‏ ‏‏‏ وَالْأمة: أَتبَاع الْأَنْبِيَاء ‏‏‏‏‏ ‏‏ خاضعة لَك ‏‏‏‏‏ قَرَأَ أَبُو عَمْرو " مختلسا "، وَقَرَأَ غَيره بِكَسْر الرَّاء ‏‏‏‏‏‏‏ أَي: متعبداتنا.

والنسك: الْعِبَادَة، وَمِنْه يُقَال للعابد: ناسك، مَعْنَاهُ: مَوَاضِع حجنا ‏‏‏ ‏‏‏‏‏‏ ‏‏‏ ‏‏‏ ‏‏‏‏‏ ‏‏‏‏‏‏ .

‏‏‏‏ ‏‏‏‏‏ ‏‏‏‏ ‏‏‏‏ ‏‏‏‏ ‏‏‏‏‏ ‏‏‏‏‏ ‏‏‏‏‏ ‏‏‏‏‏‏‏ ‏‏‏‏‏ ‏‏‏‏‏‏ ‏‏‏‏‏‏‏‏ ‏‏‏ ‏‏‏ ‏‏‏‏‏‏ ‏‏‏‏‏ ‏

Our Lord, and send among them a messenger from themselves who will recite to them Your verses and teach them the Book and wisdom and purify them. Indeed, You are the Exalted in Might, the Wise."

And who would be averse to the religion of Abraham except one who makes a fool of himself. And We had chosen him in this world, and indeed he, in the Hereafter, will be among the righteous.

قَوْله تَعَالَى: ‏‏‏ ‏‏‏‏ ‏‏ ‏‏‏ ‏‏‏‏‏ أَي: طَريقَة إِبْرَاهِيم ‏‏ ‏‏ ‏‏‏ ‏‏‏‏‏‏ حكى أَبُو عبيد عَن أبي عُبَيْدَة: مَعْنَاهُ: أهلك نَفسه.

وَقَالَ الزّجاج: مَعْنَاهُ جهل نَفسه، وكل سَفِيه جَاهِل، وَذَلِكَ أَن من جهل نَفسه لم يعرف الله.

وَفِي الْأَخْبَار: أَن الله تَعَالَى أوحى إِلَى دَاوُد: اعرف نَفسك واعرفني. فَقَالَ يَا رب كَيفَ أعرف نَفسِي، وَكَيف أعرفك؟ فَأوحى الله إِلَيْهِ: اعرف نَفسك بالضعف وَالْعجز والفناء، واعرفني بِالْقُوَّةِ وَالْقُدْرَة والبقاء.

وَقيل: مَعْنَاهُ سفه نَفسه وَجعله سَفِيها، وَفِيه قَول رَابِع: مَعْنَاهُ سفه فِي نَفسه، فَحذف كلمة " فِي " فَصَارَ: سفه نَفسه.

‏‏‏‏ ‏‏‏‏‏‏‏ اخترناه ‏ ‏‏‏‏‏‏ ‏‏‏‏ ‏ ‏‏‏‏‏ ‏‏‏ ‏‏‏‏‏‏ من الْأَنْبِيَاء.
